Objective of the Post
Many a times we easily make KMZ files from Google Earth application or from any android application. But when we want to upload it in Garmin GPS it doesn't support KMZ file and can't open it. Similarly Map Source application also doesn't support KMZ file. Here is the way to convert your KMZ file into GDB files.
- Open KMZ file in google earth.
- Locate the file in the side bar of Google earth just below the folder "Temporary places".
- Right click on the file and click "Save places as"
- Check 'Save as type' and change it from KMZ to KML and save.
- Now open GPS babel application and do the same procedure as mentioned in this blog under title "How to convert KML file into GDB"
- Your are done.
